GFCI Power Unit: Each set of HeatTrak Residential Mats requires one GFCI Power Unit to connect the system to an electrical outlet. The Power Unit connects your system to a 120V electrical outlet and allows power to flow to the mats. You can connect up to 13 amps on a single Power Unit. If your connected mats exceed 13 amps, you will have to split up the mats and add a second Power Unit to plug into a separate outlet. The Power Unit contains a watertight connector that will allow it to connect to the first or last mat in your system. The unit is rainproof and is designed to be left outside for the entire winter season. Power Unit contains a 6 foot cord and inline Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter

Note: If you do not buy a GFCI Power Unit, your mats will not work. Additionally, if you are ordering Heated Mats for more than one location (ie - front of the house and back of the house) you must order a power unit for each location.

All HeatTrak Residential Mats connect with one another using their built-in watertight connectors. In some instances, you may need a 20-Inch Cable Extender to create longer cable connections between mats. Follow this rule:
Starting from the Power Unit, wherever a Residential Stair Mat leads to a Residential Walkway Mat you will need a 20 Inch Cable Extender.

Multiple cable extenders can be connected together to create custom length cables. The 20-Inch Cable Extender and 25-Foot Cable Extender can also be connected together.

If the electrical outlet on your house or facility is further than 6' from the heated mats you will need to use an outdoor rated cable extender. This 25-Foot Watertight Cable Extender will provide an additional level of protection against water and moisture than other outdoor rated extension cords. This watertight cable extender was designed with the HeatTrak Walkway and Stair Mats in mind and will only work with HeatTrak products. To ensure a watertight seal, the cable extender has the same patented connectors as the heated walkway and stair mats. This cable extender can be used with Residential Walkway Mats (HR20-60, FG20-60), Residential Stair Mats (HR10-30, FG10-30, FG10-48), and Industrial Stair Mats ("HRT" Series).
